Today’s consumer is a hungry beast; he wants it bigger, better, faster and cheaper! Excellent! This is great news for you and I. Why? Well, because this puts the ball firmly in our court. Traditional publishing methods meant finding an agent, a publisher who’d publish your work and waiting perhaps years to see your work come to fruition. If you were lucky. Well that’s all changed. With the incredible growth of I.T. comes an incredible supply of new opportunities. Society today has an insatiable thirst for knowledge and information, and it’s up to us to give it what it wants. Think about it, when you decide you want something, you feel excited at the prospect and can’t wait to get your hands on whatever it might be. Then after a few days of waiting, the excitement fades and you begin to wonder. Do I really want it? Do I really need it? Most people buy on impulse, this is a fact and we have to commercialize on it, and an ebook is the perfect tool with which to do this. Having said that, I’m not suggesting creating and selling garbage.

A. What are your interests, hobbies, and specialist knowledge subjects. B. What are the most popular subjects - top subjects searched on the net There are several ways to research list B, but the two I’d recommend are.
A. The ‘Overture key-word search tool’ B. ClickBank
Overture Search The Overture search tool is free to use and can be accessed by, entering the term, ‘Overture key-word search tool’, onto your browser.
Enter what you feel would be the most appropriate key word/words a viewer would use for your particular subject field into the ‘Get suggestions for’, box. Example. If your subject is an ebook or free child ebook - enter it into the box, press the arrow to the right, and you will get statistics on how many people in the previous month searched the Net using ebook or free child ebook as their key words. You will also receive a list underneath, quoting all the relative keywords associated with your original choice. Play around with it until you feel comfortable using it. If your key-words come back with a very low return, ie, under 5,000 searches, you may not find enough potential customers to warrant this particular choice. That being the case; try another subject until you get the results you are looking for. It is not easy to judge what a good result is, it really depends on how many competitors are looking for the same business. You can get an idea of the competition by making a search on your browser for your key-words, and seeing the similar companies that come back. ClickBank ClickBank is ideal for testing your ebook marketing strategies, as it is the top company ebook marketers use to sell their product. It’s also a very good way of discovering current market trends. Again, select, ‘ClickBank’, on your browser and spend some time researching the subject categories of the most popular ebooks available.
Moving On
Okay, you’ve chosen your niche, you’ve found there is a good market for your ebook or free child ebook and you’ve researched the availability and quality of your competition. Now we’re ready to move on to the winning formula.
I’d just like to re-emphasize a very important point I made earlier. Ebooks are going to be huge, respect this. Don’t do what a lot of people are doing right now, cashing in by producing low quality, copied, run of the mill tripe. Your reputation will suffer and your long-term prospects as an ebook or free child ebook webmaster will never see daylight!
