Writing Idea Hmmmm… What should I do today? I know, I’ll write a blockbuster. Now then, where am I going to find a really good, mega original idea?A good writing idea, not unlike the desperate need to break wind, can often present itself at the most inopportune moment! But, like any good disciplined writer, you must cease whatever you’re doing immediately, write it down, and put it somewhere safe lest you forget it. This of course, can be a dreadful inconvenience at times, just ask my wife!Some of us can become overwhelmed by a creative writing idea whilst performing the most mundane of daily household chores. You could be washing the dishes, mowing the lawn or even cleaning the toilet if you’re really unlucky. I however require a little more refinement and sophistication and find my creative juices are at their pinnacle of performance whilst lying flat on my back with the lights off. Needless to say, I spend a lot of time in bed! But on a more serious note, there’s an endless supply of subject matter just waiting to be discovered, it’s only a case of looking in the right places. Take your own life, I don’t mean that literally of course! Take your child-hood, your hobbies and interests, your job, your family, your friends, the place you grew up or where you live now. Nobody else in this world has shared your experiences. They may suck, but they’re yours and totally unique. You just have to bear in mind that everyone has a different perspective and finds different things interesting. Maybe they’ve had similar experiences and can empathize with what you’re writing about. You just need to see the bigger picture. There could be the perfect writing idea just waiting for you in your own back yard. What do you love? What do you hate? What inspires you? Take current affairs for example. What would you change, given the opportunity? What’s in the news? It always amazes me why they call it, ‘THE’, News. You’ve got your morning news, your lunchtime news, the six o’clock news, news at ten, news on the hour, news headlines and special bulletins. There’s news coming out of our ears. But it all boils down to the same old thing, BAD NEWS!  I don’t know about you, but I’d really like to see some good news. Why can’t we have a choice, why can’t they show the Good News on one channel, and the Bad News on the other side? Surely there’s something good happening somewhere in the world! There’s a writing idea for you. Change the system. Goodbye wars, murderers, rapists and pedophiles. Hello sunshine. Lets feel good about our-selves. But more importantly, lets feel good about each other! ‘Good News’, is my original concept and will require ENOURMOUS amounts of hard currency for the copyright. Sorry about that, shot off on a tangent for a while there. But it just goes to show, there’s an idea constantly brewing in the pot, you just have to be more aware of it.  Take the Net as another example. It’s a dog eat dog world out here, and the opportunities for a devious mind are endless. I spent a lot of my time researching lots of different subjects before starting this site, and to be honest, I was amazed. The amount of get rich quick schemes and e-books offering the perfect solution to anything you care to mention are mind-boggling. But what’s even more astounding is the amount of us greenhorns buying them. Now look in the mirror and ask yourself. Do I really look like I’ve just sailed up the Swanny, wearing a new straw boater on a makeshift raft laden down with bananas?
Yeah okay, hands up, me too, I tried a few!  But we’re wising up aren’t we? We’re becoming more aware of the rip offs and scams. While the rip off merchants are growing in number, their target audience is slowly diminishing. What does that mean for you and I? Opportunities! People will always require new information, and it’s up to us to provide it in the most honest, respectable and entertaining way we can. Whether in the form of an article or book, there’s always a new writing Idea just around the corner, or even new ideas on an existing theme. In fact, the possibilities of finding a good creative writing idea exist all around us in everything we do; all it requires is the ability to be more susceptible to our surroundings and the attitude and needs of our peers.
